Moonstone

A gathered group of moonstone: pale polished cabochons and tumbled stones with a drifting blue-white sheen.

A drifting blue-white glow inside pale feldspar. Intuition and the tidal kind of calm.

The aesthetic

Moonstone is a feldspar built from alternating microscopic layers that scatter light into a soft blue-white sheen appearing to float just under the surface and drift as the stone moves. That effect is adularescence. The body colour runs from milky white through peach and grey to near-black, and the most prized material is almost colourless with a strong blue float.

The dynamic

Moonstone is tied to the moon in nearly every tradition that uses it, and is associated with intuition, cycles, and a calm that comes and goes rather than holds steady.
