Handmade · Gathered · Hooked

The Strands & Stone lockup: a cluster of quartz crystals beneath a crescent moon, framed by crimson blossom, a ball of red yarn and a crochet hook, above the Strands & Stone wordmark.

The Story

A collection of things gathered
and crafted with curiosity

My shop is a collection of crocheted dreamcatchers, mandalas, amigurumi, carved or raw crystal and minerals, and whatever else inspiration brings to life.

Everything here is chosen or handmade with intention, on purpose. Some brought from the dark, some from the light. The boundary between them is barely there. A warm, sunlit dreamcatcher may hang beside a coffin carved from something colder. Opposites, perhaps, but neither out of place. Both were meant to find their way here, where their nature is left intact.

Every piece carries a presence. Organic artistry or handcrafted expression, vibrant or understated color, raw texture and deliberate composition all come together to give each piece its own distinct, unmistakable character. Where the spirited settle, and the quiet is violent.

The Realm

I’m often drawn to things that feel wild, weathered, dark, and a little unsettling, but just as easily to things that are soft, playful, strange, and quietly sweet.

I’ve never had much interest in choosing one side or the other. The contrast is part of it. A jagged crystal can sit beside a soft yarn, a rough stone beside something delicate, and somehow they still belong to the same aesthetic. I don’t want to fit into just one world. I’d rather wander among them, following whatever catches my curiosity.

  • Nature
  • Animals
  • Old forests
  • Strange creatures
  • The unusual
  • The unknown
  • Absurdity
  • Horror
  • Folklore
  • Mischief
  • Humor
  • Awkwardness
  • Sarcasm
  • Oddball humor

All of these find their way into what I gather and create. A place where the spirited are settled, and the quiet is violent.

Found & Made

Some things are found.
Some are made.

All belong to the curious, strangely beautiful realm I’m curating here.

New crochet pieces begin with whatever pattern pulls me in and unfold slowly, stitch by stitch. Crochet is a quiet ritual for me, meditative and unhurried, so each piece is given the time to become what it wants to be. Once I’ve worked a pattern through to the end, the curiosity in seeing it take shape is usually satisfied. I’m more interested in following the next idea than retracing the same stitches.

The minerals I collect are chosen one at a time, guided less by rarity or perfection than by whatever sparks something in me. Pattern, color, shape, texture and the strange little details that make one piece unlike another are what draw me to a stone. Sometimes it’s dark, weathered, or faintly unsettling. Other times it’s soft, playful, or almost charming. I’m not looking for one particular aesthetic. If a stone carries a presence, a peculiar beauty, or something that makes me linger over it, that’s usually enough.

Come and have a look

New stones, new stitches, and the occasional oddity drift onto TikTok or Facebook from time to time, but what gets posted is only part of what’s lurking behind the scenes. There are always pieces tucked away, half-finished things taking shape, and strange little finds that never quite make it in front of the camera. Come have a look, say hello, or ask after something particular. There’s usually more lingering in the shadows than whatever finds its way to the light.
