Feldspar full of copper glitter. Warmth, nerve and a bit of showing off.
The aesthetic
Sunstone is a feldspar packed with tiny plate-like inclusions of copper or hematite that catch the light all at once, giving a metallic orange spangle across the whole stone. The effect is called aventurescence, the same as in aventurine, but here it reads as glitter rather than a sheen. Oregon material can be clear enough to facet and sometimes carries a genuine copper-red body colour.
The dynamic
Sunstone is associated with warmth, confidence and vitality, and is the stone traditionally paired with moonstone as its daylight opposite.
