The Lore

An illustration of the Hindu deity Ganesha, elephant-headed and seated, patterned in soft rose and gold tones.

The remover of obstacles, honoured at the beginning of anything new.

Origins & tradition

Ganesha (Ganesh) is a revered Hindu deity recognized by his elephant head and human body. He is traditionally associated with wisdom, knowledge, prosperity, and the removal of obstacles. Ganesha is frequently honored at the beginning of new ventures and important life transitions.

Modern meaning

Beyond his traditional religious significance, Ganesha is often recognized more broadly as a symbol of new beginnings, perseverance, wisdom, success, and overcoming obstacles.

These meanings find their way into the dreamcatchers, mandalas and amigurumi I make. See what I offer, or read the rest of the lore.
